Description
These spider Halloween snacks are made from wholesome ingredients shaped into fun spider shapes using pretzels and candy eyeballs, perfect for a festive treat.
Ingredients
1 cup whole almonds
1 cup whole, pitted dates
½ cup unsweetened shredded coconut
3 tablespoons honey or sweetener of choice
½ cup regular oats
⅓ cup freeze-dried raspberries (freeze-dried strawberries can be used as an alternative)
Water (add a small amount if needed)
Pretzels
Small candy eyeballs
Instructions
1. Place the whole almonds into a food processor or blender. Pulse until the almonds are broken down into very small pieces.
2. Add the remaining ingredients except for the water and pulse again until everything is well combined.
3. If the mixture feels too dry, add a few teaspoons of water as needed.
4. Shape the mixture into balls using a small portion scoop to ensure consistent sizes.
5. Place the balls in the refrigerator or freezer to chill until firm.
6. Carefully break off the curved sections of the pretzels to create legs.
7. Attach the legs to the spider body by placing the body flat on a surface with legs sticking out from it to support the weight.
8. Once assembled, enjoy your creation.
Notes
Use freeze-dried strawberries as an alternative to freeze-dried raspberries.
Add water cautiously if mixture is too dry.
Freeze to speed up the firming process.
Be gentle when attaching pretzel legs to avoid breakage.
