Description

Mummy jalapeno poppers are savory stuffed jalapenos wrapped in crescent roll dough, baked to golden perfection, and decorated for a festive Halloween treat.


Ingredients

5 fresh jalapenos
8 ounces softened cream cheese
1 cup cheese (parmesan, cheddar, or pepper jack)
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
½ teaspoon garlic powder
1 tube crescent roll sheet
candy eyes or ketchup


Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees.
2. Slice the jalapeno peppers in half and carefully remove the seeds.
3. In a bowl, mix together the cream cheese, cheese, salt, garlic powder, and black pepper until well combined.
4. Spoon the cream cheese mixture into each jalapeno half, slightly overfilling so the filling oozes out a bit when wrapped.
5. Unroll the crescent roll sheet and cut it into strips about ½ inch wide.
6. Wrap each stuffed jalapeno half with the crescent roll strips.
7. Repeat this process for all 10 jalapeno halves.
8. Place the wrapped jalapenos on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven until golden brown.
9. Remove from the oven and add candy eyes or use ketchup as an alternative for the eyes.
10. Serve hot for the best experience.

Notes

Parmesan cheese can be substituted with cheddar or pepper jack for different flavors.
Be careful removing jalapeno seeds to reduce heat as desired.
