Description
This spooky Halloween treat features cinnamon rolls twisted to resemble intestines, topped with a red frosting that mimics blood for a fun and festive snack.
Ingredients
2 (8 count) packages store-bought cinnamon rolls
1 cup powdered sugar
2 tablespoons milk, plus more as needed
Red gel food coloring
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
2. Open the cinnamon roll packages and carefully unravel all the cinnamon rolls.
3. On a quarter baking sheet (9 x 13 inches), twist, turn, and coil the unraveled cinnamon roll strips to create an intestine-like appearance.
4. Bake the cinnamon rolls for 8 to 10 minutes, not following the package cooking time as it is too long for this preparation.
5. While the cinnamon rolls bake, prepare the red frosting by mixing together powdered sugar, milk, and enough red gel food coloring to reach the desired shade.
6. Once baked, drizzle the red frosting over the cinnamon rolls.
7. Your spooky Halloween treat is ready to enjoy!
Notes
Use store brands or Aldi’s cinnamon rolls for best unraveling results.
Avoid Pillsbury cinnamon rolls as they do not unravel well.
Do not follow the package cooking time; 8 to 10 minutes is optimal.
Red frosting can be adjusted in color with more or less gel coloring.
